Homo Techne: Speciation Event 2013

Speciation Event 2013

When on high,
the civilized and opened mind will look back on its evolution with curious shame. Until it realizes this vestigial fire, and douses it with the waters of humble acceptance.

In our DNA lies proof of our ancestor’s consent. Our existence - evidence of our capacity to harness our place in Nature to meet its provocation.

Why not wonder whether Prometheus was chained for his prescient confidence and not his thievery? Whether Eve deserves blame or homage for making mankind “like one of us” (Gen. 3:22)?

Religion and myth attempted to interpret what took science and reason nearly three millennia to begin to clarify - the psychology of a conscious mankind faced with abrupt environmental, social and technological change.

We are evolving beyond Homo Sapiens.

Techne: the Greek spirit of art, skill, and acquiring of craft, was like the omnipresent muse to early man, was the spark to Prometheus in the form of Homo Erectus, and was the sophist, sagacious feminine guide of mythical Eve. And, now, she has become the goddess of modern humanity.

We are becoming Homo Techne

This is an exploration of the Human career - never divorced from technology. With the massive amounts of data bombarding the human brain, we still know precious little of ourselves. We are too anxious in processing all of this information just because of it.

As in my personal journey to uncover what has shaped humanity - the discovery is an honest release. I hope you walk with me out of the Pleistocene landscapes of Africa, into the Holocene emergence of the only being in the known universe with an honest say over its own evolution and destiny.

I urge you taste the fruit from the Tree of Life.
Long overdue for religion...

...and yet right on time for scientific, human awakening.
